Awareness of Pitfalls - Single-task, not multi-task
Ok, this may come as a shock to some, but your brain is not set up to multi-task; it is simply not programmed that way. Now granted, we can do a little multi-tasking, but if you are constantly hopping between tasks, your productivity on any cognitive heavy task will fall dramatically. So try single-tasking for a change. Pick something to accomplish, and focus on it. Yes, it will be difficult; yes, there will be distractions; but you must learn to drown these out. Learn to focus. Also, what is the one thing your customers know you for? What is the one thing that you do well? What is the one indisputable thing that someone would ask for you to do for them in case of emergency? When you are doing that, does that not take focus? So why not give that much attention to the other tasks you take care of daily?
