Transform - Do my current projects challenge me?
Everyone needs to grow, otherwise they will never have the chance to reach their potentials. Never have the chance to be not just successful, but also to matter, to be significant. What would it mean to you to have made an impact on your chosen field or corner of the world? How are you ever going to reach the heights you are capable of if you are not being challenged? Do you have control over your own career path? Do you know what good looks like 1 month from now? What does good look like 1 month from now for your team? Are they being challenged? Are you in danger of them leaving because the work they are doing is neither stimulating nor interesting? We have talked previously about sparring, but whom do you spar with? How do you stay sharp? How do you know that the next transformation, when you are not driving it, will be viewed as an opportunity to learn, as opposed to change you will shy away from in fear? What can you do today to ensure your team’s work is challenging? My team and I share daily objectives, things we hope to achieve that day, both personally and professionally. The objectives do not need to be met that day, but we are committing to each other that we are going to pour our best into hitting them, and that those objectives are worth rising to the challenge.
