Innovate - Innovation is everyones responsibility
It is very important that your team, customers and partners realize that there is no one source of innovation; that everyone has something to contribute. In fact, it is their diverse opinions and experience that can often spark the “Eureka” moments of innovations. The exchange of ideas can often spark other ideas or shed new light onto old experiences. These discussions can only take place in an environment of trust, where people expect to be challenged and are comfortable challenging others - where facts and not egos rule the day, and people can disagree, while still remaining professional and engaged. Also, remember that innovation is never going to be perfect the first time through, and that all opinions are valued and must be sought from all participants (even the introverted members of your group). The best innovation session tends to be group-led, with the facilitator only intervening to keep the group on track, as the group realizes that innovation is everyone’ responsibility.
