Transform - Importance of people

Never underestimate the importance of people. At the end of the day, can you claim to have made a difference in one person’s life? If you could, would that have made the day a success? Think about whom are you working for. What do they believe in? Do they care about people, or are they just a commodity? Are you comfortable with that? Think about it from a personal point of view; which motives you more, an individual or a large corporation? Also, who influences you the most? What about that influence would you like to share with others? People make or break IT systems, but they are often overlooked. That is why moving the mindset from users to customers helps you focus on people.

Who do you influence? How can you help them make the transition? Of the people you influence, who have you reached out to recently? Now, who should you have reached out to recently? If you were to overhear your team talking about you, what would they say? If you left tomorrow, how will you be remembered? What about your customers? What do they think? Have you invested enough time in people? If not, why not? Do you have the stomach to change, or are individuals just not that important to you?
