Innovate - Create a professional library

I cannot overstate the importance of this, as I was encouraged to do it and never got around to it. Then I went looking for a piece of work I had produced previously that fitted exactly what I was about to undertake, and I could not find it. It took me days to recreate what I knew I had already done, and the frustration was maddening! What goes into your professional library? Anything you think could be valuable later. It could be a best practice, a presentation, or a set of notes you created on a book. It could even be a set of books, an old fashioned paper library. Now, I am not talking about stealing from your employer’s intellectual property, but if you have a good idea, record it. Then once you actually take some action, you need to commit to adding one item to your library every month. It does not have to be a whole book, but a piece of work you hope to reference in the future. If you do it electronically, it takes no time to do, and many vendors you are familiar with offer free online storage now. So just pick something good you have done recently, or something interesting you read, and start to create a library of reference for your own works and successes.
